OWIEEEEE!!!!!
Yep, it finally happened. We have killed too many scorpions to count now, since we moved in almost 3 years ago. No one has been stung...well, except for one of the guys who was painting our dining room. (I felt horrible!!) But last night, I was standing by my bed talking to R, watching RJ bounce all over the place when all of the sudden...!!! I felt the worst, stinging pain in my little toe. I jumped up and grabbed my foot and saw him scurrying away as fast as he could go. UGH!!
This isn't the one who did the stinging, this is the one I caught in the shower two nights ago. I threw him in the sink long enough to take pictures and then gave him a burial-at-sea. :) No, the one who stung me ended up in...um...many pieces after R got done with him!
And to answer your question, yes it hurt pretty bad. Probably somewhat worse than a wasp sting, compounded by the fact that he got me in the most tender part of the bottom of my pinkie toe. It swelled a little bit, and it would start to ease up and then all the sudden start THROBBING again. Anyway, I survived it. I'm just glad he got me and not RJ...

Simple Pleasures
Tagged again!
Been tagged again for a MeMe. This time by Shana.
Here are the rules:
You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.
At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
My middle name is Kaye. I don't think it's after anyone, they just liked it.
K-- Kids, I have four, would like one more ;)
A -- Amazing -- describes my family
Y -- young'uns-- repeating it, but that's my life. My whole life has been about children, for the last 17 years. :)
E -- Everlasting life -- I am so glad that I knew that I have everlasting life...For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (good answer!)
And I have tagged four people, one for each letter of my middle name.

Orientation
It's that time of year again, school starts in a couple of days. You can tell by the looks of abject despair on the faces of every school-aged kid in the neighborhood. :) We had to go to "Freshman Orientation" today. My 3rd one, and not my last. This was the best one so far, they have a fabulous (yes I said fabulous) new building for the 9th Grade Academy.
This is the line for books. Yes indeedy, alllll the way down to the end...
I'm just grateful that this year, we were standing in the long, long line INSIDE, in the a/c. Last year we weren't so lucky. Neither are these poor kids. "This one time, at band camp...I PASSED OUT FROM HEAT STROKE!!" Not really, they had many water and gatorade breaks, from what I saw...
Then, we had to go get him a hair cut. Because hey, you can't study if you can't see through your hair. :)

Pass the Popcorn
Well, we had Reeses pieces, not popcorn. But we went to lunch and the movies today with Granny & Papa...Here's RJ and Papa, RJ looking oh-so-cool in his Batman shades...
This was RJ's first trip to the movies. He did great, but we were glad to have the theater all to ourselves. That, my friends, is MY kind of movie-going experience!!
M, W and Papa had some fun with the projector during the closing credits...

Boys Will Be Boys
How many times have I told you, Don't throw the ball in the house!!! :) The casualty: My Fantasia Snickerdoodle-scented jar candle. Don't worry, I already have a distress call in to my personal Princess House Consultant...
Yes, balls need to be thrown OUTSIDE...
And here is the offending playground ball:

And here is the offending playground ball:
After about 10 minutes of play outside, it hit the side of the house and KA-POWIE!!
Isn't it ironic? Don'tcha think? :)
Playskool Giveaway!
Thanks to Drea , you can find details on her blog. Having had 4 children, I have used many, MANY of their products. At the stage RJ is now, this is one of our favorites: Playskool Wash-or-toss cups . They are great because they are pretty durable, but if you leave one behind, it's not such a loss. (Of course, we never leave one of THESE behind, we leave behind his most favorite "Cars" cup, WITH his bumpy name label on it, but that's another story!)
Anyway, you can find the details at Drea 's blog. ;)

R.A.S.H. in a Limo
The kids did R.A.S.H. (Running Around Snatching Humans) again tonight, but THIS time, they went out Human-snatching in limos:
They really had a great time (who wouldn't?), and over 40 kids showed up tonight!
Dee and Little C enjoyed it, too :)
I think our church should buy one, don't you? It's evidently a success at getting lazy Baptists to come to church! :)

Whine & Dine
We went out to dinner tonight, me and R and RJ. We went to the same restaurant he took me to on our first date, many years ago...
Little did he know that night, that he would one day be eating there and cutting up his little boy's chicken :)
...or that his little boy would be a contrary diner, and refuse the chicken that was so lovingly cut up for him...
...and that he would pout like nobody's business because he was "Weady to GO"...he even offered to wait in the car until we were done. I'm not kidding. "I wait in car!!" Uh, NO...
SO everyone cleaned their plates except him ;)
Oh the joys of being 2 years old!
