Another Utata project. This time the three elements are an umbrella, shot indoors, and 13:9 aspect ratio. :)

I think I have settled on a name for my spot on the information super-highway...

"Live Out Loud" is the name of one of my favorite songs. While technically I still follow the 365 format, I was ready for a change, and "Sharon366" just seemed too obvious :)

Here's the song, if you're so inclined:

Oh, you don't have to change my name in your links. :)

Iron Photographer

Ok, normally this is not a subject I would choose. :) I am in a group called "Utata", and they have a different project every couple of weeks. "Iron Photographer" uses three elements. In this case, it was a t-shirt, the oldest pair of footwear that you own, and soft focus.
What the hey, it's something to do. :)

Cardinals in the Snow

It was amazing - we stopped to gas up at a truck stop. I was walking around outside, watching some black birds hopping around in the parking lot. The thought occurred to me "Wouldn't it be awesome to see a red cardinal in all that white snow?" Immediately, as if it was scripted, this female flew right by me:

I took her picture, as I held my breath. And sure enough, right after her came her mate:

Sometimes it seems like God will just do little things to show His love, things that don't matter much in the grand scheme. But things to make you smile and feel His presence, as surely as if He were physically standing next to you. :)

Man Down

You always take a risk when you participate in any kind of sport. Snow skiing is no exception. We took a trip to the ER tonight. I'm happy
to report that it was not serious ;)

This is our girl A., one of our snowboarders. She took a fall this afternoon, which wasn't a problem. If snowboarders know ANYTHING, it's how to fall. :) Unfortunately, before she could get back up, she was run into by not one, but TWO skiers. They hit her in the side and bruised her up pretty bad. Ski patrol was uttering words like "Broken hip"...a LOT of prayers were going up for this young lady. Our church even got word before evening services were over and gathered at the altar to pray. I've said it before, prayer WORKS. She has a badly bruised hip, but nothing is broken! :)

They gave her some morphine :) I don't think she liked the shot that it came by, but she DID enjoy the pain relief...

She's back up, and lives to snowboard another day...

The View from the Top

No, I didn't take my camera up there :) I took Melinda's little point & shoot...
This is at the top of a run we went down several times called "Look at Me!!!" :) The shadow next to me is of my ski poles, with my gloves stuck on top of them...

This is Elizabeth, one of our College aged young women... she was determined to get down this run without falling, and she finally did. She worked up to black diamond runs before the day was over. Alan W. was determined to get me on a black diamond...my BD days are OVER!! LOL, I'll stick with the blues, blue is a happy color...

It was an awesome day, COLD (4 or 5 degrees to start out this morning) but awesome. Everyone did great, I got to ski with my sister and bro-in-law...they went last year but stuck to the bunny slopes. I am proud to say that they BOTH are now accomplished blue-run experts :)

I don't have any pics of them skiing, well, because *I* was skiing WITH them...but here she is showing you the slopes she went down. (I didn't tell her they were blue until she got down them) Heehee
We had a blast :)

Which is why I would like to introduce you to my two new best friends!!

I may not be able to walk when I get back home, but it will have been SOOOOO worth it! :)
Having a great time, wish you were here Dad :)
