Ridgecrest, Day 1

Well, I did get a little sleep last night. It is SO hard for me to fall asleep anytime before midnight! We had a good, uneventful trip and got here right before noon. BEAUTIFUL weather. No snow, but we did see some on the mountain tops as we drove through. Here's Natalie, learning to do the "Outback Express", that's Jeff Slaughter in the orange shirt behind her. He writes all the music for Lifeway's VBS programs. HE ROCKS!! :)

Then Mychael and MeiChing got on stage with him to learn another one of the new songs for this year...

Beautiful day, but getting colder as night falls, as you can see from this little bird all puffed out against the chill.

More fun to come tomorrow!

I have fond memories of Ridgecrest. Jeff Slaughter used to lead our youth retreats and try out his VBS musicals at our church. Before our music minister went to another church. I think some folks from our church are up there with you. I hope you have a great time!

Cool. Jeff is a talented guy. I think some of his VBS songs could easily be converted into regular congregational worship music.

Island rider, there is certainly a huge crowd up here this year! Jeff is so talented, and he has such a heart to do what he does.

Alan, wait until you hear the ABC song for this year. They went to Israel to do the video, it's awesome.
