Bake cookies, of course! :) Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter. Can you say "Oink"?

Windy Weather

We haven't had a whole lot from Tropical Storm Fay in our neck of the woods. A little rain, a little wind, that's about it. :) Looks like she's all bark and not much bite. There have been a few trees down around town, but I guess our area got the weakest side of her. We still have about 36 hrs to go of her (according to our local weatherman), so we'll see. She may have something up her sleeve yet.

Waiting on Fay

We have been under various weather watches and warnings since yesterday. We have a Tropical Storm named Fay heading in our direction. They first predicted that she would go offshore and become a cat 1 hurricane, and then turn back towards us for a pretty direct hit. What can they say? Women can be fickle, and Fay is no exception. Now the forecast is for her to remain a tropical storm, which is fine by me!

Right now, we are alternating between dead calm and sudden whipping wind and heavy rain as the bands get closer to us. I kind of like storms, to be honest, as long as they are like this. Just a little excitement, with no real damage to people or property :)

Where I'd really like to be right now is the beach, watching the waves become wild with the storm. No living life on the edge when you have kids and responsibilities though, so we're at home, taking the puppy out to run off some energy during the lulls in the storm. :)

Trifecta

Every time I go butterfly hunting, I find one kind. Groups of Fritillaries or Monarchs, usually, with an occasional Zebra Longwing thrown in. TODAY, I went out and got three different kinds in the same hour. :)

Zebra Longwing, as mentioned before it is Florida's State butterfly :)

Eastern Black Swallowtail. These are hard to get a good shot of, they don't hold still as a rule, but this one was kind enough to pose for me :)

And the Good 'ol Gulf Fritillary :)
