The Smallest Church in America

Or at least in Southeast GA :) According to the flyer, this 10x15 church was built in 1949 by a local grocer, Agnes Harper. She was criticized and told that it would not do justice to God. She said "It's not the dimensions of the church...it's the extent of the faith."

It's open 24 hours, the lights come on when you open the door. They say you can comfortably fit 13 people...if they hold their breath :) They have a service there every 3rd Sunday, and it's also available for weddings and baptisms. Smallest church...smallest preacher...

He looks cute up there! My daughter lives near there but I've never had a chance to stop. You got some nice pictures of it!

Big enough for me! It's perfect in fact.

That's neat! The fruits of a day trip to Georgia, I suspect? (Before the undercooked shrimp incident!)

Dot, he's actually on my husband's shoulders. :) You should stop next time you're out that way, it's pretty neat.

Andree, I guess you're a fan of small churches? :)

Yes, a couple of hours before the shrimp. It's a shame, because it was really, really good food and the cleanest restaurant I have ever seen! I'm assuming it was the shrimp...something just wasn't right. Lesson learned: listen to your gut, or it will punish you!
