I heard a rumor

that there was a beautiful field of sunflowers not too far from me, so I took a drive to check it out.
Sunflowers, yes...beautiful? Not exactly.
Nevertheless, I got out of the house for a bit and there were a few photo opportunities. The place was swarming with these little, tiny butterflies. He looks pretty good sized here, but it's about the size of the end of my thumb.
There were plenty of dragonflies swarming about as well...
and some nice views along the way, so not a total waste of time :)

Funny, it looks like they're hanging their heads in shame, that they couldn't put on a better show for you! I'm glad you chose to take a picture anyways.

Those are some great, velvety wings and the wee little flowers are so pretty up close!

rolled hay! what a lark! i only see that on road trips. we're all about the bales on this side of the country.

I have a picture of Ronnie standing in front of a field of very large sunflowers that was taken somewhere in Europe several years ago when he was there for work. It is so cool. Maybe one day I'll scan it and post it. Dead or alive, the picture is great. I'm still trying to grow some. Hopefully they will survive.
