Blustery Day

I took Melinda to practice her driving yesterday afternoon. It was a little breezy when we set out, sunny and a very pretty day. I let her drive South for a good while, and then we switched and headed back towards home. Of course, we stopped several places I had spotted along the way for photo ops :)

We had to stop at our favorite park, but by then the wind was really kicking.

You can see the whitecaps on the river, it was pretty rough ...She's trying to get out of the wind :)



It's still unseasonably cool today, with lows in the 40's for the next three days. I'm not complaining though, it will be hot, buggy weather soon enough! :)

It never fails, when I have something to do at home and can't get away, (or driving somewhere in the car) the most amazing sunsets happen :)

When they do, I just get what I can from the backyard :)

My American bloggers will most likely recognize these immediately. For my overseas friends, these are "Thin Mint" cookies. They are only available once a year, sold by the Girl Scouts of America. I am firmly convinced that they contain some form of highly addictive drug, worse even than Lay's potato chips (Their slogan is "you can't eat just one")!! Thin Mints slogan should be "You Can't Eat Just Ten"!! :)

Hawk

Maybe a red shouldered? I missed an AWESOME photo op, when I came out of the building, he was perched on a handicapped parking sign. Right at eye-level!! I could have gotten him, if not for the boisterous, less-than-stealthy 3 yr old that was with me :) He heard RJ coming and flew up to this light in the parking lot. He was huge, I wish you could have seen him perched on the sign. The light he is on in the pictures is huge and doesn't do his size justice.
