Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass

We had this group perform at our church yesterday morning, and I'm telling you ~ they were phenomenal!! This is Tim Zimmerman, doing what he does :)

And the rest of the guys. They also have a pianist that performs with them, every song they did was just beautiful. Since it was our '4th of July' service, they did a few patriotic marches as well as all the songs from the various branches of our armed forces. They asked that anyone who was serving or had served would stand while the song for their branch was played. That's always very moving and emotional to me. (Especially when they play the Air Force one and so many members of my own family are standing)

Now this guy here was absolutely amazing! He played the drums, the bells, the xylophone, you name it. What was awesome was on a few songs, he would be playing the bells with his right hand, while still playing the drums with his left ~ two different rhythms! I could never be that coordinated!
And here are two of our very own, they were invited to play a few songs with them and did a fantastic job as members of the "Greater Jacksonville Brass". :)

You can find out more about the group At their website and hear them play Here

4th of July

We have gone to the beach for the last 3 years to see fireworks. It's usually pretty good, we go far down from the pier (where they set them off) and it's not been too crowded ~ until THIS year...

We try to get there while it's still daylight so RJ can play in the water for a while. He kept edging further and further out, until his Daddy was wet to his waist! LOL

This year, it was extremely crowded, and there was a large party of drunks right by us, setting off illegal fireworks. It was dangerous, and loud, and RJ was crying to leave before 9pm because of it. This picture is all I have to thank them for ~ I was taking pictures of the condos on the beach when they set off another one, it caused the red cast in this one, which I liked :)

Oh well, whether in the USA or elsewhere, hope you had a happy 4th, whatever you did! :)

Good Boy :)

Potty training is going good, he's just 3 months old but already goes to the door and barks to go out, and then barks to come back in. :)

SPF

I'm all ready to go out and mow the yard with Daddy. I have my hat and my uber-cool sunglasses.

But first, I have to sit here and watch my cartoons while he finishes the weed-eating and edging. I don't like to do those things, only mow. :)
Don't worry - Mom covered me from head-to-toe in this stuff. When you live in Florida, you need it! :)

I'm Back! :)

Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts and well-wishes. :) I'm feeling almost human again, and I got to go meet up with a fellow photographer friend at the zoo yesterday morning. We had a great time, just wandering through the zoo and stopping to take pictures whenever we saw things that caught our collective eye. :)

Run for the border...

Funniest thing I've heard in a while :) We went to eat at a popular local BBQ place here in town. This is the cup they gave RJ with his meal. He of course examined it at some length, and when he examined this side, he said "Mommy? He's COLD!!!" Of course he is, he is "Truckin' to the Arctic"...

Then he looked at this side, and said "Mommy? He's going to get a taco!" :oD

It took me a minute too, and for those of you who ain't from 'round here, we have another local popular restaurant called "Taco Bell"...''

Surgical Procedure

Had one yesterday, went well, I'm home. Sore and drugged :) This was a tiny, tiny little flower growing in the parking lot at the hospital. I saw it by my car when I went in for pre-op blood work. It's smaller than the tip of my pinky. :) No matter what's going on in life, you have to find the joy.
