Happy Sweet Sixteen
My lovely daughter will be 16 next week. We celebrated her birthday with family and friends last night. A few of her friends came home with us for a sleepover, and then a trip to her favorite park today. Happy Birthday, Sissy ;)
Here she is with her cousin, opening a present from Granny & Papa...
...getting a glimpse of something shiny in the box...
...and realizing what it is! LOL
You can see the rest of the pictures on flickr :)

He LOVES those Jaguars!
I posted awhile back about this Jaguars Fan-atic. I've tried to catch him at it, so I could get his pic too. Lo and behold, he was mowing as I drove by yesterday. I got off at the next exit and went back to his monument-in-landscaping and pulled off. When I got up the hill, I saw that a news truck had pulled up. Honestly, I'm surprised it took them this long to get him in the news. I didn't get to talk to him, he was being filmed and interviewed, so I snapped a few pics and continued on my way.
It's a pretty big undertaking, but he gets out there every week and keeps it looking good.
Oh well, at least I'll get to watch the news and get the rest of the story!

Granny Jenny's Piano
This was my Grandmother's piano. Everyone else in the family either already has one, or has no need or room for one, so it's here. :)
She could really play, and all by ear. She learned to read a little, but when she was younger she just sat down and taught herself. The bench has some of her music in it, I guess she bought it more for the words than anything. She would always play a mini-concert for us when we would visit for Thanksgiving or Christmas, until she got to where her arthritis wouldn't let her. More and more, she would request that my sister play instead of her. She broke her hip and had to go into a full time care facility (I don't like the term "nursing home"), so she was away from her piano. There was one where she was staying, so once again, holidays found us all gathered around the piano, singing songs, with her as our audience. She's been gone for a while now, we miss her. I'm proud to have her piano. Who knows, maybe I'll even learn to play something on it. :)
Workin' at the car wash yeah
*2 days after these pictures were taken, we had a hard freeze. Welcome to Florida! If you don't like the weather, wait a minute! :)
