The Aliens Have Landed...

Ok, I promised antennae pics of me, so I am dragging Melissa along to share the pain :)

Lovely, huh? I don't know, I'm thinking it's a good look for me. Capt. Kirk would like it, anyway... And here is the cause of our transformation...our amazing preschool director, Yolanda:
At any rate, it seems to be working. I have had quite a few people stop me in the halls and classrooms and ask me what's up with the head gear. :)

Finally, Rain

We've been without a steady rain for so long, I hope it keeps up. Good for the plants, bad for the traffic. I had to run some errands this morning and saw SEVEN accidents. Nothing serious, just driving too fast for conditions and sliding into other cars, barriers, ditches...
There was one big truck that had rolled, but the driver was Ok. I was being extremely cautious, and my traction control system kicked in more than I've ever seen before. Thinking hubby is going to be very busy the next few weeks...

Alien Abduction

Ok, not really. But it's what it looks like is about to happen when I take a shower these days. For whatever reason, hubby came home the other night with a new shower head. I have NEVER seen a shower head like this. It's been four days, and it still startles me when I'm taking a shower. First of all, it's freakin' ginormous. And second, I can see myself in it. Ok, funhouse mirrors can be, well, FUN...but NOT when you are naked and wet. :)
Just so you get the proper perspective on this monstrosity, here is my hand in relation:
and in relation to the old one:So don't tell him, but it does make washing my hair a lot quicker and more efficient. So it will be a good thing, as long as I don't fall and break a hip when I see myself in it and jump. :)

House Guests

This is Sammy:

And this is Harley:

My brother's dogs, they will be with us for the next 10 days while my brother and sister-in-law go to California for a wedding. They stayed with us last year as well, but then there were three of them. (I called it "Weiniepalooza") We were expecting to have all three again, but a few weeks ago Chopper went to the Rainbow Bridge. So, it will be a little quieter this time. (Try to imagine an old-man weiner-dog, who is totally deaf, with 2 teeth, barking like an old-man deaf-dog, at nothing. That's Chopper ;)

They are sweet, but the funny thing is Harley -- If I go to my Brother's house, Harley will not let me anywhere near him. He acts like he wants to eat me alive. But when he comes here, he is a different dog and wants love and affection. Go figure, I guess it is the same with people. Sometimes there is just no explaining them. :)

Yes, Deer

So I had to pick my oldest up from work last night at Midnight. I decided to take my camera, because you just never know...and lo and behold. look what I found drinking from the lake! Ok, I know the picture is crap-crap-crappy...but it was midnight and I'm a novice. The point is, it's DEER!! LOL There were a couple of females and two or three little babies. I pulled off the road and put my headlights on them. They were kind enough to stand around for a few and let me *try* and take some pics

Then it was on to wait for dear son to finish up. Decisions, decisions...
Cheese is ALWAYS the right choice :)
Then on the way back home, we found this big guy. He was just laying around on the lawn in front of our community pool. Maybe Daddy to the babies? Who knows. (btw, click on this one to see it blown up)

Of course he stood up when I pulled off the road, but he stood there watching curiously while I set up and braced myself against the truck door to try and get a good shot. :) Very cooperative deer around these parts.

Beauty by the River

I don't know why it is. Maybe because this is where I'm from. Maybe it was growing up with Grandparents who had a home on this very river, just a few miles North of this spot. Maybe it's all of it combined. I've been to the mountains too many times to count, spent half my life on the beach. I've not seen every beautiful spot there is to see in my country, but nothing has ever been more beautiful to me than the river. Maybe just because it's home. :)

Mowing with Daddy

He lives to mow with Daddy
I love to see that little arm around him
And if you remember
this , check this out:

MAJOR improvement. :)

Memorial Day

I'm from a military family (3 generations) and we have been very blessed in that we have never lost a family member due to a conflict. My thoughts are with all those today who have.

Oh the lengths we go to...

Our VBS is coming up, and since I am a co-director (with Melissa365), I have to wear this lovely headband to church tomorrow, and for the next two weeks after that. Won't I be cute? (Melissa, you better be wearing yours!) RJ is pretty taken with them, I hope I can keep them in one piece for the next few weeks. :)

By Special Request :)

Mrs. M said to put this up tonight, and I am nothing if not obedient. :) These are my baby boys. The bigger one was my baby for a long time, until the little one came along. He wasn't too sure about being a big brother at first. In fact, he was pretty much against the whole idea! I'm happy to show that once baby brother came, it was complete and utter love and devotion on big brother's part. Even to the extent that he is hoping we have another. :)

Love of My Life

You are the love of my life,
And I'm so glad you found me,
You are the love of my life,
Baby put your arms around me,
I guess this is how it feels,
When you finally find something real.
My angel in the night, you are my love...The love of my life.

Another Magnolia

Busy day, this is all I got. :) The colors aren't as good on this one, too much smoke in the atmosphere from all the wildfires going on. Everything looks washed out. I like how perfectly open it is though.
